Tohsaka Rin Wig Styling Tutorial

Also available on my Patreon

Hey! I thought I'd do a quick tutorial for how I style my bangs for my Tohsaka Rin cosplay! So without further ado, here it is!

1. Start by feathering the bangs so they lie at eye level. Put the wig on a wig head, make sure it's on straight, and brush out the bangs.

2. Part the bangs in the middle, brushing them to the side.

3. Using larger hair curlers, curl the bangs in the curlers tightly, curling them as much as you can.

4. Use a hair dryer to heat up the wig fibers, using your hand to smooth the fibers over the curlers. Heat up the bangs until they are warm to the touch.
5. Wait, leaving the curlers in, until the wig fibers have completely cooled. It won't work near as well if the fibers haven't completely cooled before taking out the curlers!

6. Take out the curlers and spray the bangs lightly with hairspray before brushing out the bangs using a comb.

And you're done! That's how I style my Rin bangs at least!

The wig I used for this tutorial is this one from Taobao. I would recommend it as I really like the colour and style! The shopping service I use for Taobao is Spreenow which I would also recommend.

☆ Jolyne Kujo Cosplay Overview ☆

Character: Jolyne Kujo
Series: Jojo's Bizarre Adventure

Hello! So today I thought I'd just do an overview of where I got my Jolyne cosplay!

I actually got it commissioned from Latex Catfish, which is a company specializing in, as the title suggest, latex clothing and bodysuits. I didn't like how any of the other Jolyne costumes that you could buy online looked, and I thought the look of latex would work for Jolyne's outfit so I messaged them!

I decided to use the colorway she has in the Eyes of Heaven game, so I sent them this picture for reference and asked if they could do a custom order!

They said they could, and asked if I could send more photos for reference of the costume so I sent this one as well as I think it's a good one to show off Jolyne's outfit from all angles.

I paid for the outfit on Nov 2 and it was shipped Dec 1. So, it took almost a month to make, but honestly I was expecting longer, so I was pleasantly surprised! I was so excited for the costume to arrive that I immediately tore it open and didn't take any photos of the packaging, but rest assured it was very well packaged.

The costume! I really like how the material looks~ When I first took it out of the bag there was a strong rubber smell. If you're sensitive to strong smells I would be careful about ordering anything latex. The inside of the costume was also powdered to help get it on.

The pants of the outfit are like leggings, and the pattern on them is fantastic. They did a really great job sticking true to the reference photos and the lines on the pattern are straight and perfect.

The straps attached between the pants and top are also really well attached. Well they are thinner I am not worried they will easily break as they, and the rest of the costume, have a lot of give to them. Latex seems to be a reasonably flexible material!

The top of the costume and it's pattern are also really well done and I'm very happy with it.

The butterfly and heart design is also reasonably good but I might paint over the butterfly later just so I can get the exact marking as on the game photos~

The back of the costume also has a strap that wraps around my back to keep the top in place. The whole top is also a halter top.

Apologies that I don't have any better fully body pics of me wearing the costume right now, but it fits perfectly! It's really tight, but in a way that fits like a glove. If you are planning to get a latex costume, I'd recommend getting someone else to measure you as you can't get precise measurements if you measure yourself. I had my friend do it.

However, it is really hard to get on (and off!) It tends to stick to my skin, which is a property of latex. But, once I do get it on it is really comfortable to wear! I can still move freely in it and I think it looks really good!

I've found that rubbing my skin and the inside of the costume with baby powder before I put it on works wonders for helping it get on and not stick so much to the skin!

Taobao Haul + Spreenow Review

Hey guys! So my taobao order just came in and I'm really excited about all the stuff I got, so I thought I'd share it and simultaneously do a review for the shopping service I used! I'll also put links to all the things I got at the bottom!

So, first of all, if you don't know, Taobao is a Chinese website that is a collection of different shops - kind of like eBay or Amazon, and they have some really amazing stuff on it that you can't find on other sites, and most of the items are for really low prices! Unfortunately, it's all in Chinese which makes it hard to use if you don't speak it, and you need to use a shopping service to buy stuff from Taobao.

Essentially what a shopping service does is orders the items you want for you, communicates with the shops, packs all your items you order in a single box, and ships it to you! The service I use is called Spreenow - I've used them several times and I've been very happy every time~

After making my order for the items on Spreenow, I had to wait for them to check it over to make sure everything was fine before paying. Spreenow charges a 10% fee on the items you order which I think is very reasonable for the work they do! After this I had to wait a little while for all the items to come in before they were packed up and shipped out

Shipping was very fast I think it only took like 3 days! The box with all my stuff inside was taped shut and looked very secure as well!

Inside the box, the items were all tightly packed into a black bag

The black bag feels kind of weirdly sticky almost, but none of the items packaged inside were affected at all!

All the items! They were all neatly packaged inside the bag either in plastic bags or in another box!

First item! I got this brow shaper thing! I didn't order it so I guess it was a present which was super nice!

Next is this super awesome Vento Aureo shirt! It was packed into a plastic wrap~

I really like the design on it I think it's really cool~ It fits really well, but make sure to check the sizes on the listing because this is a Large and I normally wear size S by North American standards!

Inside the wrapping for this shirt was also a little package of heart shaped candies which was so cute~

Next I ordered a Jolyne wig! The wig isn't the same colour as is pictured on the Taobao listing, but when the shopping service received the wig they sent me a picture and a message asking if this colour was acceptable, to which I responded yes~ If I had not been satisfied however, they would have handled returns for me.

The wig was packaged as I'm used to - in a plastic bag and covered with netting. It is as I expected and so I'm happy with it!

Here is me wearing the wig and the shirt!

Next is this set of cosplay lip gloss I ordered! It was packed into a small box and then covered in plastic wrap~

The listing is actually specifically for Jojo's cosplay, and it has all the bizarre colours you might need to cosplay Jojo characters including green, blue, and black!

Next I opened the smaller box that was packaged into the larger box I received! All the items inside were packed safely inside with styrofoam

Sono chi no sadameeee

Anyways packed under the mask were lots of things! Including these adorable Jojo charms I ordered!

The ones on the left were for my friend, but these are miiine~

Inside the green envelope were these earrings I ordered for Kakyoin cosplay! They look really nice and seem very nice and well made!

Also in small packages were these really cute jewelry items!

I ordered this really cute brooch! Of course, it's also Jojo themed~ See the lil "SBR" and the horse? Steel Ball Run themed

The seller also included this cute bracelet as an extra!!

Onto the mask! It was also packaged into a plastic bag!

It is really detailed! I was suprised at the carvings on the inside of the mask! It also has a gold hook at the top so you can hang it on your wall if you want~

The mask looks really, really great. It was also a lot heavier than I was expecting. It's not actually made of stone but it's much weightier than the craft foam I was expecting. All in all I'm very happy with it.

Next is both the best and worst hat I've ever owned. Again, packed securely into a plastic bag

The seller included extra screws for this hat because the DIO letters are actually held on with screws which is really cool!

Again. The best and worst hat ever.

Finally, the last item is the pillow I ordered! It was packed in plastic wrap and taped tight so as to save on space

The design is super cute and the printing is crisp and well made. It looks great even tho it is Dio. The pillow has a redeeming side to it tho!

Namely, that the other side is Jonathon

Also I just want to comment on how cute the banner is for the store where I got the pillow because so cute

So yeah! That is my Taobao haul! Again, if you want to order things from taobao I recommend Spreenow!
